About Tam

Tam has been in practice for over 20 years, establishing their own practice in 2011. In that time, they have delivered more than 30 projects concentrating on the residential sector, with experience working with schools, arts organisations and community groups. They have served as Director of Resort Studios, sat on the South-East Committee, Architects Declare and have delivered EU Interreg capital projects in partnership with Kent County Council.

A committed environmentalist and certified Passive House Designer, Tam is an advocate for a Circular Economy and brings deep technical expertise across new-build passive homes and low-carbon retrofit design, with a brilliant network of low-carbon, natural and innovative material suppliers.

Having left home at 16, Tam has long been curious about what home means and how identity, belonging and space shape one another. After studying ‘individuality of the home’ during their masters, their interest continued in this field. Two decades on, this curiosity can be felt in Tam’s thoughtful, creative approach to every project, creating homes that deepen people’s connection to themselves and to the natural world.

Tam is passionate about the future of low carbon, regenerative architecture and passive house design. They are known for their dedication, warmth and optimism, and for smiling despite the rain.
